Humphrey has worked in private equity for 30 years, latterly as head of Europe and member of the executive committee of Advent International, one of the world’s largest private equity groups. He has served on twenty-five company boards during that time and currently serves on the board of Cambridge Innovation Capital and as a panel member of the Competition and Market Authority.

Humphrey has a physics degree from Cambridge University, an MBA from London Business School, is a qualified accountant and is currently pursuing an MSc at the London School of Economics. He is a trustee of the Woodland Trust and Sadler’s Wells and is chair of the Institute for Research in Schools and is on the Cambridge University Campaign.
