Director, Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence
Ken is a professor at the University of Glasgow and a researcher in housing economics, finance and policy. He is the director and PI of the new UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence, funded by ESRC, AHRC and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. Ken has recently completed international comparative housing research projects for the EU and the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute. He also recently co-edited The Scottish Economy for Routledge and co-wrote Housing Economics: A Historical Approach for Palgrave. He is a former head of the department of Urban Studies, director of Policy Scotland and co-director of What Works Scotland. Ken chairs Sanctuary Scotland housing association and is the finance director and trustee of the Urban Studies Foundation. Ken was recently included in an Inside Housing list of Scotland’s housing leaders.
